A few newborn pics!

We took our lil girls newborn pics this week at Texas Tech. (of course!)  We did Luke's newborn pics there as well so it was only fitting.  It was a bit windy so we did a pretty fast session.  Baby girl slept most of the time but we were still really happy with the final outcome.

Kylee Grace is an EASY baby.  She sleeps, eats, sleeps, eats....!  She is starting to smile and we are so in love with that little smile.  She had her 2 weeks check up yesterday and was: 6 lbs 14 oz and 20 1/4.  So she is growing and eating really well.  She is not a fan of the heel prick but who can blame her.  Justin has to hold her for that because I am not good at seeing her cry.  I wasn't with Luke either.  Any other kids I can handle it, not mine tho!  We have Kylee sleeping on the "Baby Wise" schedule and she is doing great.  She goes to sleep around 10:30 and wakes every 3 hrs to eat.  Then she falls right back asleep.  And she does this until 7:30am.  Around 8 she will fall asleep until almost 1pm.  Luke was not a sleeper at all, so we are enjoying this change in babies!  I have a hard time keeping her awake to feed her at nights.  She would love to sleep through it all, but she is at least feeding for about 20 minutes.  She stays awake mostly between the 4pm-6pm time.  She is awake, alert, happy and loves watching her brother be silly for her.

Luke is doing SO GOOD.  We are so proud of how he has adjusted.  He loves helping with his sister and will do any and every thing we ask of him.  He has had moments of needing a little more extra "attention" but other than that every thing is going better than we could have ever even expected.  God heard our prayers and for that we are thankful.  Luke has had a few adventures of his own lately.  His Nana came picked him up and they spent the night in a hotel then had a morning shopping extravaganza at Target and lunch at McDonalds.  The next weekend, a couple of our friends came and took him to his most favorite place...Adrenaline City at BodyWorks.  And this week my sister has been in town and has spoiled him with trips to the mall, new toys, a movie date and a couple of park play times.  This has all been a HUGE blessing to Justin and I!

Me and Justin are doing really good.  I always fall in love with him all over again times a thousand throughout our 11 year journey together.  Seeing him be such an amazing dad adds to that.  I smile when I see him hold his daughter and promise her the world.  I love how in love he is when she smiles at him.  Me and Luke had a little mommy/son date day and I was beyond thankful that he has absolutely no reservations about cleaning the house and taking care of Kylee so Luke and I could enjoy a morning out of the house together.  I married the best man.  God knew what my heart was searching for.  How thankful I am!

I am so happy that breastfeeding is so good to me. (Lol)  2 weeks after birth I am back to my pre pregnancy jeans.  I am so ready for a good workout and am counting down days for the dr. release.  I need to tone up and feel the strength I like my body to be.  I am 16 lbs from my pre pregnancy weight.  I know I can reach that goal when I have a chance to get back to my running, kick boxing and weight lifting routine.  We took a good walk at the park this past weekend and I was so glad to be moving physically!

Life is grande for us.  I hope it is for you, too!  Peace and Love
Tara
