Father's Day

Fathers Day was a very relaxing day...just the way Justin wanted it to be!
We spent Fathers Day in NM with Justins family. Luke woke us up bright&early and he gave Justin his fathers day present! He made him a picture frame with his feet in paint. Then we found a sweet poem about Fathers and put it in the middle. I love doing crafts with Luke. He loves to put his hands and feet in the paint and he really loves markers. His laughs when he sees it go on paper and realizes he is the one who did it. Its really cute! I bought him a big cherry wood fabric pin board to put Lukes art work on in his office. It was the perfect gift for Justin- he LOVED it! (He also got a very much needed nap!) We went to church, ate bar-b-q and swam all afternoon. It was a great day!!!

Justin is an amazing father...he is EVERYTHING i knew he would be. He really makes life so easy for me and Luke. He does everything he can to give us anything and everything we need or want and I respect him for that. Above everything else, he is my very best friend in life. And it has been the best experience to watch Luke and him becoming best friends too. They are already such a Father/Son duo lol! I love cooking dinner and hear them wrestling or laughing or making forts in the living room floor. It has been really hard but I have had to let go of keeping the house perfectly spotless so my boys can have fun and play lol. This past 6 months have been so hard on Justin. His knee bone broke off and he has had 2 surgeries in 6 months. The last one he had in March- they drilled out part of his hipbone to replace the hole in his knee. He has been completely unable to walk until a couple of weeks ago. He has been in wheel chairs and crutches and in the hospital or doctors office. And he went through all of that while still working. He is a supervisor and probably one the best bosses anyone could ask for. He works really hard and he still went everyday so his employees wouldn't have to work extra hours. It was hard on him and his body but he is so tough. And he has still been taking care of his family too. I have had to step in and do the yard&trash and I am glad that is over with lol. But it was definitely a team work effort for our family. But Justin is back to walking again now! YAY! He is still in lots of pain and still lots of swelling in his hip&knee but he gets to walk with Luke and wrestle again and play outside. After everything he has been through he deserved to have a good day and I am so glad he got it!

Just like my card said to you...you are one of the greatest men I have ever known or will ever know. You make me so proud...hands down you are the hardest working person I have ever met. (That is why you have been so successful!) Thanks for the life you have given me. And thank you for spoiling your grandson with more toys than he needs and all the love in the world!

Me&Justin went on a wonderful date night tonite! It was very much needed and it was really fun too. We went and ate Hibachi&Sushi yuummy! It was wonderful, everything tasted great. It was my first try with sushi and I like it a lot. We are with 2 of our very good friends Jayson&Kenzee! They are always great company to we have lots of laughs when we are with them. I am missing Luke a whole bunch =(. I don't know if it will ever get easy to be away from him at night. I never sleep very well and I just do not feel complete without my sweet good night kiss. Luke has learned exactly who mama is! He used to say the word a lot but he didn't always connect, but that has changed! So it has become a night time ritual for him to give me a kiss and say momma right before I lay him in his crib at night. And I would do anything for that moment to happen right now. But I am just going to lay down & pray about him and for him and get some rest. Night.

A little guilty

I always feel the guilt set in the moment Luke leaves me. His Papa came and picked him up today for a 2 day visit at Nana&Papas house. I guess I mainly feel the guilt because I feel almost a sense of weight let go from my shoulders, I feel guilt because I am not going to be the one who rocks Luke to sleep and I feel guilt because I cant kiss Luke before he goes to sleep. Its a huge battle that tugs at my heart. I need the little break at times but the moment he is away I miss him and want him back. I always utilize the time he is gone to nap, clean, spend quality time with the pups and with my husband Justin. I am so fortunate because Luke has 2 sets of the most wonderful and loving grandparents anyone could ever ask for. We are BLESSED! Since Justin and I are without family in Lubbock our families know we need a little break occasionally. This week is vacation bible school at my in-laws in New Mexico so he is going to play with his friends and flirt with the little old ladies! He is really good at being a flirt already ;)

This past weekend we all spent the weekend in Dallas with my family! It was a wonderful trip and lots of fun memories were made! Mine&Justins best friend Micah is our road trip partner and we made a road trip to see Cross Canadian Ragweed- go to the horse races and spend time with my family&friends! Luke is a GREAT traveler-thank goodness! He slept from Lubbock to Abilene and then we stopped and ate and let him walk around for a bit. Then he fell back asleep and slept all the way to Grand Prairie! My parents&sister picked him up and they went to eat and swim and spoil Luke! We met up with my brother and his girlfriend Machelle and went to the horse races and saw Cross! It was awesome! I even ran into Shelley-who I played basketball with forever and we hung with her for awhile too! It was a great night!!! Saturday we sat poolside and cooked out&swam with Luke! I am so happy that Luke is getting to spend his summer with family- I wouldnt have it any other way! =)

Getting Better

Well, it has definitely been awhile since I have blogged. And so much has happened!!! I am defnintely going to get better at blogging. I dont really do myspace very often anymore, but I do facebook a lot still lol. Mainly becuase I have a lot of family and I really like to share Luke's life with them. I am going to get into blogging more from this point forward though. I feel like it will be a lot more easier and to the point for what I want.
