Catching Up...

Wow...Life has been so busy lately that I haven't updated my blog in awhile! Lucas has grown up so much since my last entry. Here is a short list of what he has been up to!
1) Lucas turns 9 months is 2 days!
2) He has 3 words in his regular vocabulary-Dada/Mama/Ball
3) He is pulling up and getting brave enough to let go and stand with no hands lol! (he usually falls after 30 secs or so!)
4) Lucas has just begun his 3 foods and he loves them! He eats lots of fresh fruit and veggies already...but now he has tried (and Loved!) cheese, baked turkey and fruit popsicles!
5) He has 8 teeth total now! He has his top 4 and bottom 4. (3 of his teeth have just broke skin so they are still growing!)
6) It is IMPOSSIBLE to bathe Luke and not get wet! Bath time is still his absolute favorite but he loves to splash and splash in the tub!
7) Luke's newest favorite activity is chasing the pups around the house! They get annoyed with him but he giggles and just keeps chasing them! It makes Justin&I laugh!

We have found a new church in Lubbock and we absolutely love it! Luke will begin Mothers Day Out there on the 23rd! The church is fantastic and everything Justin&I have been looking for in a church! And they have a Christian Learning school where Luke will be going 3 days a week in the afternoon. It will be a big adjustment for him and me! We are both used to being together all day long everyday! But...I am going back to work in the afternoon/evenings. I am so nervous about this transition. Luke has already met his teachers and they are all wonderful! They are mostly Tech students majoring in Early Childhood Education.

Here are some random pictures I took of Luke yesterday! I was photographing "A day in the life of Lucas Lee!" Really his schedule is play/eat/sleep...lol! =)

Lucas is 7 months

My Lil Boy is 7 months old now! Most months I get all sad and freaked out about how fast time is going...but this milestone was much more relaxing. Luke is growing more and more everyday. My once underweight baby is now the perfect size! He is 7 months and wearing 9-12 month clothes. I got scared and called the doctor about this...wondering if he was eating too much?...but the doctor insisted that this was completely natural in males especially. He said it was a great sign that he going forward and not backwards! YAY! We spent Luke's 7 month day at the house as our lil family! Luke crawled around everywhere and Justin and I played hide-n-seek with him! (we hide and call his name and he finds us!) The sunshine was out briefly today so we went outside and he played in his swing for awhile! It was a much needed peaceful and relaxing day for our family. Justins parents came down in the evening to do some Christmas shopping so we ate at Joe's Crab Shack! Lucas was tooo silly...just giggling and smiling! He is so fun to be around...he really has a great personality and I fall in love with it more and more everyday! Later we went to Best Buy...and Justin and I picked out our new TV we want to get eachother for Christmas and helped his parents load/unload their new TV! Then we had to do a lil shopping at Target too! It was crazy shopping though..people were everywhere and it was busy everywhere that we went! But overall it was a special day because our son hit another important milestone in his life! Also, Luke is getting realllly close to talking and Justin and I love it! He is starting to sound out words...and can say things like "hey" and "hi". He is not for sure what those words mean yet and is not consistant at saying them- but he can repeat them back to you. Also if we day "Dadda" he will look right at Justin. And he will do the same with me if we say "Mama"! It is amazing when you can see your child learning and growing and putting things together.

Learning New Things

Luke has really been learning new things at a rapid pace lately it seems. I love to challenge him and read different things on how to keep your baby active and interested during the day. Today I read that at 7 months your baby will begin to like pots and pans. They will learn that they can make noise with different objects. And also they like utensils! So...I found a lil pot for him in the cabinet and gave him a big plastic spoon! Once he got past the initial part of wanting to eat the spoon he realized he could hit the pot and it would make noise! Needless to say...it was free entertainment! He went to town making his own lil music! And he was occupied for 2 hours straight! Luke loves for Justin to play the guitar..and he absolutely loves music on the radio and tv. It was so fun to watch him be able to make that music this time! Justin is very talented with music and can play lots of instruments and can really sing. (Def something that attracted me in the very beginning!) I have really been hoping on the inside that Lucas would understand music and be able to play- because i cannot but I love music and always have wished i knew it like Justin does. Watching him today and playing music with him was something that will be stored in my best memory folder in my mind forever =)!

Also, when I was grocery shopping yesterday i found a new cereal that I had never gotten for Luke. It was the pear oatmeal with cinnamon. OMG..he loved that! Luke loves all food...he is really easy to please and he loves to eat! Luke has only cried over 2 foods tho...like cried bc i could not feed him fast enough...and this oatmeal was one of them- the other was sweetpotatoes and turkey lol. He ate the entire lil jar for breakfast. He loved it!!!!

Silly Baby

Luke is getting funnier and funnier everyday! I find myself laughing at him all the time during the day! He loves to make me and Justin laugh too! When we laugh...it makes him laugh even harder! He is into everything in this house. I cannot leave a room for a single second because he will be into something he is not supposed to be into. For instance- shoes. He has a new habit of wanting to find shoes and chew on them lol. Mostly he crawls straight for the Christmas Tree! I had to put his presents that were under the tree on a chair because he goes right for them and wants to tear the paper off. But since he started crawling he is napping a lot longer during the day and eating a whole bunch more too. I think he is burning a lot of calories and looking to replace them????

Luke does have a new favorite toy though! His Aunt Tamara bought him a Winnie the Pooh that crawls on the floor and sings. OMG...he LOVES it so much! They crawl together on the floor and Luke gets soooo excited =) about it!

Thankful

This Thanksgiving I am so thankful! I love Thanksgiving and I consider every Thanksgiving a time to be special and I love having that time to reflect on my life and all the wonderful blessings I have received. But this year is a Thanksgiving where I feel as though my knees need to hit the floor to praise The Lord for my families blessings. Lucas Lee is a huge blessing- my little hero- he is the definition of Love. Justin and I both feel tremendously thankful for the past 6 months and how much our life has been impacted by our little boy! I can sit here and list every single thing I am thankful for when it comes to Luke...but the list would be forever long! So, I am going to list the 5 things that Justin and I decided we could NOT go a day without!
1) Luke's Smile & Laugh!
2) The way Lucas hugs us when we pick him up!
3) The sound of Luke's voice when he is talking to us!
4) How cute Luke is in his jumpy...he makes us laugh so much when he is jumping!
5) Bathtime & Prayer Time with our babyboy!

Lucas went with his Nana & Aunt KT yesterday and spent the night in New Mexico. Justin and I are going tonight to spend the night and have Thanksgiving there tomorrow. Although Luke has stayed away from us before- it is usually on the weekend. Having him gone during the week just through our whole evening routine off. Our house seems so empty without our baby in it. It is funny how me and Justin have lived together for almost 6 years now, and yet in 6 months Luke has changed everything about us and our home lol! It feels empty without him on the floor with all of his toys- or hearing him laugh and talk all night- or giving him his bath at 8pm and then doing our family reading time and prayer.
But...last night I got some very much needed rest and relaxation. Justin and I went and ate dinner and then came home and watched the Biggest Looser and then worked out really hard. Then I got the best gift haha! I was in the steaming hot bath relaxing and Justin came in with a glass of wine! Just what I needed to end the night! It was a good night and I love having quality time with Justin. But I still miss my lil boy sooooo much. And he never leaves my mind for a second when he is away.
We are leaving in about 2 hours to go see our baby...and I am counting down the minutes! I cannot wait to pick Luke up and hold him and give him a kiss and see his smile!

Lukes First Wedding

Lucas attended his first wedding last weekend! He was so cute all dressed up! I was a bridesmaid in my best friend Bree's wedding and we had a blast! But I was so infatuated with seeing my son...that was all i could concentrate on before the wedding! As we got into position to walk out...i saw him! He was fussy lol...so Justin was taking him out into the reception area! Luckily where they got married at had a huge window that looked right into the wedding hall so they were able to watch the whole wedding and I was able to see them through the window! So many of my friends from DFW hadnt met Luke yet so it was awesome for them all to meet him! And Luke had a cute lil friend Cruz there too! It is very rare that i get to see him interact with another baby, and it was so precious to watch them stare at eachother and play! I loved it! Posted are pictures from the wedding and Luke before bed time!

6 Months

Wow! So much has been going on and I have been awful about posting it! Sorry to my family that keeps udated with our blog! I am going to get better--I promise!

Sooo...our little baby is 6 months old!!! He is at a REALLY fun age right now! I cannot believe how fast things are going...but I am loving his age right now! He is so much fun and life is full of laughter in the White House right now because of Lucas Lee! He is rolling and scooting all over the floor! He has getting up on his hands and knees and rocking a lot...so we are waiting for that first big crawl soon! He is talking about all kinds of things all day long! He is smiling and belly laughing a whole bunch right now!!! Lucas loves to be awake and playing with his toys on the floor...he is so alert and interactive...its a fun time right now! We did the 6 month check up yesterday at the doctor and he was 17 lbs 13 oz and 27 inches! He is developmentally on target with everything! YAY- Praise the Lord! I had to hold him because he kept wanting to roll over and chew on the paper on the table lol! =) He didn't do as well with his shots as he had done previously. He cried a bit more than normal and ran a temperature all night. But momma&daddy were there for lots of hugs and kisses all day. On Luke's 6 month birthday we were in Dallas so we went to the zoo with Nanny&Poppi! Lucas loved the monkeys and the giraffes the most!
